It's that time of month again where we get to see your yummy creations! I hope you all enjoyed the apple crumble cupcake recipe - it's certainly become a favourite in our house and is great for using up the glut of apples at this time of year.
If you haven't got round to baking the recipe yet, you've still got plenty of time - the Linky tool will be open until 8pm next Thursday, 30th Sept, when I will choose a lucky baker at random to receive a copy of the What's New, Cupcake? Thank you to everyone who joined in with last month's recipe - lovely to see some new faces too. All the creations looked yummy and there were some great variations involving different chocolate, apples and cinnamon. Congratulations to Sian at Pumpkin and Piglet who the random number generator picked as the winner of the lovely glass cake stand - enjoy! This month's recipe is apple crumble cupcakes, which I came up with to use up some cooking apples I have leftover. If you don't have cooking apples then I'm sure eating apples would work just as well, you may just need one extra for the recipe as cooking apples are generally bigger than eating apples.
Last month I decided to enter English Mum's Big Bakeoff with my Summer strawberry cupcakes. I watched, with my mouth watering, as the entries poured in. There were some truly wonderful looking cakes and cupcakes, and some brilliant children's entries.
A while ago I was tagged by the lovely Julie at Ice Maiden Cakes, who posed the question to fellow cake makers "Who makes your birthday cake?" Baking has long been a tradition in our family with my Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma all being fabulous bakers and that is certainly where I got my love of baking from. When I was little my Mum used to make me wonderful birthday cakes.
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who joined in with the July Bake It! recipe. The lemon squares all looked delicious and I hope you enjoyed the recipe.
Roll call! So, who has managed a bit of baking this month? I only gave you a couple of weeks this month to get baking so I hope I gave you enough time. I have already seen some yummy looking lemon squares on some blogs but I'm hoping to see lots more! Don't forget to add any pictures to the flickr group to show off you baked delights and add a link to your blog post underneath here.
